Poetry and the Law:
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Practicing Law Can Be Hard, But Poetry Isn’t.

Whether it’s the pandemic, the practice of law, family stresses, or personal challenges, we can all use a mental health break from time to time. And studies show that poetry can do wonders. It can reduce stress, lessen feelings of loneliness, ease pain, improve your mood, and improve chronic health conditions. And a quick Westlaw search shows just how common poetry is in our profession.

In this new and unique CLE, we explore the overlap between the law and poetry. We’ll look at how the law has influenced poems through the ages, as well as how poems have influenced the law. We’ll even have an easy and fun guided poetry writing session.

Josh Durham, partner at Bell, Davis & Pitt, PA in Charlotte, will lead this exciting CLE.

1 hour Mental Health CLE has been requested.
