Our second NCADA Young Lawyers monthly Practice Pointers Series is Thursday, March 9th.
Join guest contributor, Mark Stafford, Nelson Mullins, as he shares tips and pointers on Trial Preparation 101: The Legal Questions, Phases, & Steps. Regardless of a matter is complex or straightforward, there are certain steps and phases that you need to anticipate (sometimes far in advance) and to undertake as you organize the file, move through discovery, and prepare for dispositive motions and trial. Whether it’s planning for e-discovery, determining which of your client witnesses may have left the company, gauging the breadth of discovery and range of budget items, or even ensuring the appropriate firm staff are available during trial, this discussion will provide insights and tips based on what experienced lawyers know to have been successful—and lessons they’ve learned when things have gone wrong.
Mark's practice includes assisting a wide variety of companies, their owners, and professionals in complex business, employment, data breach/privacy, and healthcare disputes. He co-authored "The Painful Privilege of Preparing the Privilege Log" for NCADA's The Resource.
This new monthly Practice Pointer Series will provide insight for young lawyers into practical and substantive defense and litigation topics. The series will consist of 30- or 60-minute, drop-in Zoom meetings on the second Thursday of each month at noon.
